Lack of Long Range Strategy

Many schools fund raising efforts are stalled in the present with annual events and donation drives. The targeted fundraising pool is often the parents of the current students which creates a monetary request in addition to tuition, potentially compromising generosity.

This strategy has adequately served many schools but during a lean enrollment year the very base of donations shrinks when funds are needed most (less students = less parents). The adequate rapidly becomes inadequate and without other resources a school may face a financial crisis.  A current or present only method of fundraising is not a strategy as it does not anticipate the lean years.
